Debbie Taylor - Director of Education NZNA

Hi my name is Debbie Taylor and I am the Director of Education for NZ Nail Academy and have been in the nail industry for the past 15 years.  In 2001 I was invited to become part of the Education team for EzFlow Nail Systems NZ and travelled to Australia to attend an intense 5 day education seminar which I am proud to say I passed with flying colours. My educating knowledge and skills were further proven when in 2004 I won "Educator of the Year Award".

After spending a few years educating I then realised there was a lack of Training Establishments that could offer a National Qualification so in 2006 I decided to branch out on my own and Register with NZQA as a Private Training Establishment and that is when I started NZ Nail Academy Ltd. With our government accreditation we are the only Private Training Establishment throughout New Zealand able to offer our students a much higher level of education and we are very proud of that achievement.

I also wanted to be able to offer our students a wide range of high quality products but yet still competitively priced so I went searching and finally I found Entity Beauty, Nfu.Oh Nail Creation & Sheekee Nails. Believe me I have tried many products over the years and finally I have found some great brands that are not only more workable but more durable, very competitively priced without compromising on quality.

Since being involved with Entity Beauty, Nfu.Oh Nail Creation and Sheekee Nails, I have had the opportunity to have trained with some of the top leading Nail Artist's and Educators around the globe including the late Tom Holcomb - 9 times world champion nail artist and co-founder of Entity, Tom Bachik - current celebrity manicurist and co-founder of Entity, Lorena Marquez, Lee-Anne Henderson Smith, Danny Haile, Viv Simmonds and Nickole Orton.  I am always striving to do better and I do believe that knowledge is power. I am continually updating my skills so I can pass that knowledge onto my education team who can then provide you with the most up to date techniques learnt from the very best in our industry.  You will not find a more talented education than what NZNA have to offer and their skills and talent are second-to-none.

Louise Gordon - Auckland

Hi, I am one of those lucky people who love their jobs!  I am the Auckland educator for the NZ Nail Academy Ltd, which is more than a job it’s a passion. If you have ever wanted a job you can fit in around your family, that allows you to meet clients and have fun whilst earning money the Nail and Beauty industry could be the perfect thing for you.

I trained in 2001 and straight away opened a small salon in the local gym, lots of ideas but not much experience and even less capitol! It was hard at the beginning but by persevering and advertising I slowly built up a client base.  I went on to do Masters training and then educator training, which was fun but hard work.  I started to educate in 2005 and haven’t looked back since.
Up skilling is vital as it keeps you motivated and in touch with other technicians, as well as learning new techniques and being able to offer more services.

At NZ Nail Academy our goal is to train you in the best possible way with the best product’s that are affordable and that will perform well time after time.  On going support is vital and we maintain relationships with our students long after they have trained.  We are constantly up skilling ourselves and are always excited to pass on new skills. Jill Roberts - New Plymouth

Hi. My name is Jill.

I have been a qualified Nail Technician since 2001. Initially trained under both Creative and Ezflow, I made my way to Master Nail Artist in 2005.  I had been wondering what would come next for me, when, during the 2009 NZ Beauty Expo, I met up with Debbie and her amazing Education team while at a 3D Nail art course.

Since the 2009 Expo, I have become a NZNA Educator for Nfu-Oh, Entity and Sheekee, holding classes from beginners through to advanced 3D in the New Plymouth Region.

Debbie offers a high level of education at NZNA with continual re-education of her team of educators. I can assure you NZNA offer the most up to date techniques and products available in the nail industry today. Having used many different Nail enhancement systems, I have found NZNA’s wide range of products of a high standard, and at very competitive prices. Debbie works exceptionally hard to bring the best to you. For me, there is no other choice but NZNA. Debbie’s ongoing support to students, technicians and the education team is beyond fault.

Cassie Emmett - Waikato

I have been a trained nail technician for 12 years and an internationally qualified Educator for the past 3 years. I am now so excited and honoured to be an Educator for NZNA.


As Education is an area which has previously been overlooked within the nail industry in New Zealand, when the opportunity arose to become an Educator I jumped at the chance, and am happy to say I have made a difference already! My students are consistently creating gorgeous nails for their clients and with my back up support, their careers are soaring.

My goal as an Educator is to be 100% dedicated to my students, enabling them to feel comfortable with me to completely fulfill their potential and artistic flair as a nail technician. Whilst training with superior products, I will be ensuring all my students have a sound knowledge of safe and up-to-date techniques, and by course end will be confidently creating gorgeous nail enhancements!

Toni Treleaven - Palmerston North

Do you know how good it feels to get up in the morning and you can’t wait to go to work!  I DO!

I was Debbie’s first hand picked educator, such a huge compliment and I feel very honoured indeed! (Debbie does thou hand pick all of her educators as she only wants the very best)

I love inspiring new techs coming into the industry to be one of the elite, offering products and services second to none, if you have to look twice at a set of nails to see if they are real or false then you have done a good job, people ask me all the time how I get my nail polish to look like that, and are surprised when I tell them it is all coloured acrylic!

Up skilling and art course’s are also very exciting for me, as it’s a chance to re-ignite someone’s passion and introduce them to our superior products and techniques!

In 2007 Debbie brought over TOM HOLCOMB to the NZ Beauty Expo. What an amazing experience that was! Working with him on the stand and see him work was mind blowing! And then it gets better… Debbie held her first Art workshop with Tom for all of us in the Entity family! Imagine being trained by the 9 times world champ! Viv Simmonds the Australian champ was also there (an amazing artist) Hanging out with these champions over 5 days was incredible… and in New Zealand!

It is so exciting working for a company that is setting the pace and standard to what education in the industry should be, and has been lacking.

It never ceases to amaze me how far Debbie will go to inspire and improve the industry - I am incredibly proud to be part of it!

Kylie Brill - Tauranga

I trained in 2001 as a Beauty Therapist and Nail Technician here in Tauranga, but the last three years I have focused on being the best Nail Technician possible! I am very passionate that every client deserves beautiful nails.

I've worked with many nail brands and have finally found a beautiful range of professional nail products which I love and can rely on to create what I believe to be the best nails there are...Nfu.Oh and Entity deliver flawless results and really allow me to explore my creative side, which I am looking forward to getting out there in the near future.

Rochelle Dahl - Rotorua

Hi there! My name is Rochelle, and I am the newest edition to join an amazing team of Educators at NZ Nail Academy.

I was trained by Debbie in 2008, and was absolutely blown away when she asked me if I'd like to Educate for her, and had no hesitaion in saying"YES"!

In August 2009, Debbie bought over Viv Simmonds from Australia, who is known Globally for her amazing Nail Art, 3D & Fantasy Nails. She has won many competitions and holds titles for her work throughout the world. I had the privilege of being trained by Viv, using Nfu Oh products to create amazing 3D nail art and designs! It was an intense (but.....oh so worth it) 2 days!

I am Extremely passionate about Nails, and cant wait to share this with my students as they start their career in the Nail Industry!

Hi, my name is Paula Ellis. I have been a qualified nail technician for 7 years in Taupo.

I am really excited and honoured to be apart of the Entity and Nfu.Oh team. Being an educator for Entity and sharing and teaching something I have such a passion for is even more rewarding.
